Talked to Jackie and Smith tonight. They are doing great (for what they are doing)...Send Prayers to a young lady named Crystal, alone in S. Korea, fighting for her life, so she can return to her two sons and husband. She has been on such a long journey...

Days 1-3 are up...it is so interesting how different the treatment is over there. Paul (grandson, age 12) said, "so in Korea it sounds like having cancer is like having a cold."  Not quite, but it sure it you hope.

I need ideas for some kind of small fundraising thing, to finish up our budget and get this project paid for...ideas??

Mark and daughter Jackie are in Seoul, and met with Dr. Moon. I have added a BLOG tab to share news as we get it directly from South Korea. It is all postive and very exciting, especially coming from our position in the US where Mark was basically told he was a goner :(  and that the best that could be done was give him rounds of chemo that would not stop the cancer but just slow it down.  Read the Blog for the new improved prognosis that all of you have helped fund!!

We still need to finish our fundraising, so if there are donations floating around out there, it would really help. OR if anyone wants a smokin' deal on a sandcar or a 1988 Seaswirl ocean boat with a brand new engine get in touch with us!!

Mark's PSA went from 16 to 23 this month. he doesn't feel good this week either, so we hope hope  hope he has a cold/virus. We want to send him to South Korea strong and pray that doesn't mean he should have went last month.

We have $35,000 out of our $50,000. The granddaughters are retyping the heroes list because I somehow "lost" it off the page. There are so many people who have helped us get this far...I know the rest is out there! We are taking a leap of Faith and making an airline reservation...

KOREA BOUND

but still short on the funds... We need another Rally. Mark is confident in the decision to go to Korea. He is ready to get on a plane and fight this beast. We need another rally. We must have at least the $42,000 to start the treatment, the last $8,000 is to cover the hotel and hospital transport.

If anybody is waiting to donate, or has a grand fundraising idea, PLEASE HELP.

Mark's PSA DOUBLED in 1 month...which is scary...if you know anything about Prostate Cancer...to go from 8 to 16 in 1 month...is not good news.


Our next event is going to have to be BIG!! Jackie, Brooke and I are thinking a big dinner, with a band and an AMAZING TEMPTING SILENT AUCTION...

We are definately going to have make sure Mark gets into treatment before that happens ...

We have a lot of brave golfers, willing to try to golf a hundred holes. I have seen them...heard them...as they practice... these are true warriors... If you haven't sponsored a golfer...I know Jimmy needs some support, and if any of the other golfers are HINTING...help 'em out.

Status Update

April 2009: 
Mark's PSA is rising again, despite the fact he is currently under treatment.  Yet another US doctor pushes chemontherapy as the "only option available,"  despite a 20% success rate. Mark and Lindy have found the only promising news to be overseas. The new therapies there are very promising and Mark keeps finding more and people with success stories from their treatments.  Operation SaveMarkSmith begins, to make sure Mark has everything he needs  to finance this fight.
